We are innovating new ways of building massively scalable distributed security systems involving identity management, federation, web services security, single sign-on, and much more. We enable our customers to control some of the most sensitive secrets on the Internet.The successful Support Engineer does much more than plug computers together or track changes. They are instrumental in deploying, operating, and scaling a massive always-on distributed system that is core to all of AWS. We are looking for a seasoned Support Engineer to join our energetic, fast-moving and passionate team.This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen. In compliance with the U.S. government requirement that employees of its contractors receive the COVID-19 vaccine if those employees work on or in connection with U.S. government contracts, this position may require that the candidate selected be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Basic Qualifications

  • Relevant technical work experience and/or Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field or relevant work experience
  • 1+ year experience systems administration in a Linux/Unix environment
  • 1+ years of experience in operating systems administration or software development
  • 1+ year experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments including ticketing, metrics, troubleshooting and process
  • 1+ year familiarity with scripts and scripting and/or programming languages (Python, Perl, Bash, etc)
  • This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with very large, high-throughput distributed systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills
  • Able to show good judgment and instincts in decision making
  • Able to prioritize and perform in complex, fast-paced situations
  • Fundamental understanding of databases and administration
