Technical Project ManagerJob Description Summary Responsible for driving small to medium sized private cloud migrations/upgrade projects requiring manageable scope control, moderate complexity, and risks. Projects may be concurrent or overlap. The role requires technical understanding of the Private Cloud infrastructure to drive migration communications between Rackspace and our customers. Job Description Manage medium to large sized projects, often of varying scope, high complexity, and non-contained risk.Understand the customers current solution and understand their expectations and schedules for migration. Coordinate with the technical rackers to coordinate and plan for a successful migration. Create an environment and a process by which the project will be successfully delivered.Enhance and embrace accepted PM methods, procedures, and quality objectives.Develop and control time, project plans and budget. Manage the competing needs of multiple stakeholders.Assess and manage project variances (e.g., schedule variance); evaluate impacts to overall project commitments, evaluate and present options, and implement approved changes.Maintain accountability for managing expectations and ensuring quality.Communicate appropriately and persuade leadership regarding necessary action steps in a manner that demonstrates confidence and a grasp of the strategic intent of a project.Provide tactical and strategic leadership with decision authority within the context of the project regarding priorities, timeline, resources, and issues. Provide ongoing work direction to project team.Foster and promote knowledge exchange. Create an environment that enhances team motivation.Assure project team works in a cohesive manner and delegate tasks appropriately.Act as an example to the team in communicating in a timely and effective manner. Qualifications ·       Profound understanding of cloud technologiesAbility to adapt/adjust priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environmentAlignment with Rackspace's Core Values and business strategyAbility to adapt working style and approach to best communicate with various business contactsExperience with managing cloud/infrastructure migration projects end to end and coordinating with multiple departments.Strong organizational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to change Preferred Qualifications:5 years relevant hosting experienceBachelor’s degree in related fieldCertified Scrum Master, PMP, ITILAbout Rackspace TechnologyWe are the multicloud solutions experts.
