Industry Specialist, Defensive Security Vulnerability Management

Amazon Defensive Security is hiring an Industry Specialist. Do you have a passion for cybersecurity and customer satisfaction? Then we want to hear from you!As a Defensive Security Industry Specialist you will work hand in hand with our customers. You’ll gather requirements, triage incoming requests, plan project work, and provide operational support via our on call rotation. Key job responsibilities
  • Gather requirements from customers
  • Triage incoming emergent requests
  • Participate in our on weekly call rotation: answer tickets, review alarms, and follow run-books to fix platform problems.
  • Manage runbooks and wikis
  • Communicate with our centralized PMO organization
  • Handle communications to external customers
  • Be a point of contact and ambassador to other teams

We operate on the front lines, building tools to streamline the assessment of vulnerabilities, ingest hundreds of millions of detections a day, and drive remediation efforts. Basic Qualifications

  • Experience communicating (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Ability to understand, follow, and update or create technical runbooks
  • Willingness to work on an on-call rotation schedule
  • Understanding of security and vulnerability management fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of one or more programming languages
  • Experience managing large projects, or multiple small ones simultaneously
  • Experience owning communication to senior management and stakeholders/customers

The base pay for this position ranges from $85,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $183,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
