As part of its continued expansion, Corvus seeks a Business Development Manager / Senior Cyber Underwriter to join our growing team and to build and expand its international strategy within the European Union (EU). Additionally, the candidate will leverage our technology platform in your day-to-day role to work more efficiently and ultimately, become more productive. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Underwriter who wants to work in a dynamic and innovative insurance environment where they can really shine in the local and regional Cyber insurance market.

The Business Development Manager / Senior Cyber Underwriter for Europe will be a member of the International Team, working together to develop and implement a long-term operational and organizational strategy for Europe as well as deliver outstanding results as the company continues to grow.  

Responsibilities:

The Business Development Manager Europe / Senior Cyber Underwriter role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the growth of the Cyber portfolio across Europe, while ensuring underwriting excellence and innovation;
  • Building a book of Cyber business consisting of Primary and Excess business, with an initial focus on Excess for corporate accounts within the EU;
  • Underwriting and binding Cyber business within Corvus’ underwriting appetite;
  • Negotiating with brokers to close deals and following up outstanding quotes across Europe in different jurisdictions and cultures;
  • Identify distribution channels across Continental Europe for new and expanded products,
  • Conduct broker training and presentations on Corvus Technology and Insurance products;
  • Build Corvus brand across multiple territories in Continental Europe;
  • Lead innovative broker and distribution relationships across the Europe, to drive growth in the SME, Middle-Market and Corporate segments;
  • Ensuring high quality service standards and compliance with all underwriting guidelines;
  • A successful candidate will be extremely comfortable with technology and have a strong desire to join a growing team of professionals that is committed to improving P&C commercial insurance for brokers and policyholders.

Professional Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Cyber underwriting experience, preferably gained across multiple European markets; other professional lines products highly desired;
  • Deliver excellent customer service by responding promptly to broker queries;
  • Strong broker relationships nationally, preferably also across Europe;
  • Highly organized and superb attention to detail;
  • Strong problem solving and decision making capabilities;
  • Knowledge of the international competitive insurance landscape;
  • Strong network, reputation and relationships with (re)insurance carriers and brokers;
  • Self-motivated, creative, and possessing strong time-management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities skills, written and verbally;
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages highly desired;
