About the Role:
The IT Security Operations Analyst position resides in the IT Operations team and will work under the guidance and direction of the IT &amp; Security leadership team. This role is responsible for the operational security duties related to security tooling and MSSP facilitation. The IT Operations team is responsible for the security and availability of Trace3 services.
The Security Operations Analyst is responsible for initial receipt of escalated support requests related to security, monitoring, and responding to threat intelligence, alerts, tuning SIEM and other security tools, participating in security incident response, network monitoring, understanding application exploitation techniques, facilitating access reviews, running training and awareness campaigns and providing a strategy to mitigate risk while maintaining intrusion containment.
Work is generally independent and requires the ability to work autonomously. In addition, this position will be tasked with proactive vulnerability assessment, threat detection, and forensic investigation support and support systems development and deployment with best security practices.

What You’ll Do:
<ul>
<li>Day-to-day Security Operations Responsibilities include:</li>
<ul>
<li>Liaison with Trace3's managed security service provider</li>
<li>Logging onto our security vulnerability logging consoles and actioning high priority vulnerabilities</li>
<li>Liaison with our key security tooling vendors and ensure proper configurations/patches are applied and maintained</li>
<li>Initiate the Security Incident Response Team and Process in the event of an enterprise incident</li>
<li>Monitor security alerts and tool response</li>
<li>Evaluate suspected phishing emails for threats</li>
<li>Vulnerability remediation planning</li>
<li>Responding to SOC-initiated investigations</li>
<li>Respond to Azure/Office 365-based alerts and KPIs</li>
<li>Analyzes and formulates an initial response to alerts from various sources</li>
<li>Reports on security awareness training and phishing simulation results</li>
<li>Oversees and configures security monitoring tools</li>
<li>Develops security controls based on gap analysis</li>
<li>Management and tuning of SIEM event sources</li>
<li>Escalating incidents and concerns as needed</li>
<li>Evaluate assessment and audit findings and develop remediations</li>
<li>Conducting an audit of security controls</li>
<li>Provide end-user client support as needed to respond to and resolve security-related incidents</li>
<li>Utilize scripting abilities to automate analysis of security alerts</li>
<li>Design and review security tool dashboards</li>
</ul>

<li>Work with internal stakeholders to solve security challenges and develop and implement changes to drive the organization's automation, scalability, and continuous improvements.</li>
<li>Manage security issues and engage with partner security teams and internal teams to ensure timely remediation of issues, escalating as necessary to ensure appropriate levels of urgency and engagement.</li>
<li>Participate in efforts to promote security throughout the company and build good working relationships within the team and with others across the company.</li>
<li>Demonstrate flexibility and tolerance for handling disparate tasks, including small projects and ticket work, managing multiple priorities and interruptions while remaining productive and effective.</li>
<li>Proactive knowledge-sharing within the team and across the company</li>
<li>Actively seek areas of opportunity to improve the handling of security operations, saving time/effort while continuously delivering higher-quality outcomes for the company's security.</li>
<li>Knowledgeable in network and operating system security, software security, and security operations</li>
<li>Participates as a member of the security team, ensuring all policy and practices are adhered to and in alignment</li>
</ul>

Qualifications &amp; Interests:
<ul>
<li>5 years of Information security experience, including knowledge of security event and incident management, security operations, and major security technologies</li>
<li>Strong technical acumen in multiple security areas desired (vulnerability management, DLP, MDM/MAM, and Internet Content Filtering)</li>
<li>Experience with security tools such as Netskope and Crowdstrike is a plus</li>
<li>Strong technical acumen in multiple infrastructure areas desired (on-prem hosting, cloud hosting, network, telecom, desktop, collaboration)</li>
<li>IaaS, PaaS, platform implementation, and management experience. Microsoft Azure experience required, AWS and Google Cloud experience a plus</li>
<li>Excellent analytical / troubleshooting skills</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to influence and impart knowledge to senior IT and business management</li>
<li>Ability to identify emerging trends in technology and applicability to Spectrum Brands</li>
<li>Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and ability to explore new possibilities and approach issues differently</li>
<li>Strong organization and time management skills</li>
</ul>

<h3>What You’ll Do:</h3>
As a cyber security intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to developing Trava’s cyber security program. Tasks include but are not limited to:

<li>Implement security controls as directed by the Senior Security Engineer</li>
<li>Assist with administration and implementation of security tools</li>
<li>Research security tools to enhance Trava’s cyber security posture</li>
<li>Run periodic security scans against Trava’s environment</li>

<li>Assist with security awareness training and phishing campaigns</li>

<h3>What We’re Looking For:</h3>

<li>College student majoring in a cyber security field or related IT or Computer Science fields but some experience in cyber security</li>
