Zero Trust (ZT) Cybersecurity Engineer

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Zero Trust (ZT) Cybersecurity Engineer to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.

The ZT Cybersecurity Engineer will help lead a dynamic and exciting cybersecurity program for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Duties

As a ZT Cybersecurity Engineer supporting Maveris programs, you will be trusted to support the delivery of our IT products and services. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Read and understand a ZT use case and be able to build(design) an Implementation plan from it.
• Update Implementation Plans based on new use cases, as well as lessons learned from deployments and stakeholder and system owner feedback.
• Create ZT System implementation schedules and test plans which includes building individual project schedules, test plans, regression testing, and deployment support
• Conduct system impact analysis to determine if the changes warrant a “major system change” and reissuance of Authority to Operate.
• Craft ZT Analysis and Implementation Reports to document ZT Use Case Progress and target architectures implemented, any deviations, issues, and lessons learned noted.
• Assist with onboarding systems to an Operations and Maintenance Risk Management Framework process.
• Work with ZT Assessment and Use Case teams to provide lessons learned and improve processes.
• Work with the system stake holders to implement the ZT Implementation plan created.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
• 10 years of relevant experience.
• 8 years of additional experience may be substituted for education.
• Experience crafting implementation plans for ZT Use Cases
• Must be well versed in Cyber Security Tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks.
• Must have familiarity and experience in the implementation of cyber security regulations.
