Location: This is a remote position and we are considering candidates from any major hub in the United States

The Junior Cyber Engineer role is an exciting opportunity for an eager software developer who wants to gain some experience working within the cybersecurity space at a pre-IPO startup. This role will provide the opportunity to work alongside experienced security professionals, learning the skills required to design and implement robust cybersecurity solutions. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cybersecurity, have a knack for problem-solving, and be eager to expand their skills and knowledge in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Leverage open source and self-created tools to facilitate security operations and compliance objectives.
  • Integrating existing and new tools with internal/external systems
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Armis’ cybersecurity defense capability.
  • Understand and apply basic cybersecurity concepts in the areas of authentication, role based access controls, encryption (both at rest and steam).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest cyber threats, attack strategies, and remediation techniques.
  • Assist in the development of design documentation, risk assessments, vulnerability audits, and incident reports.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or related field. Relevant work experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in the field totaling at least 4 years ( education, work, homelab, etc ) 
  • Understanding of various cybersecurity concepts such as Threat Modeling, Incident Response, and Security Architecture.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Bourne Shell, Python or Javascript.
  • Basic understanding of network protocols, cloud computing, and secure coding practices.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills

  • Can effectively work remotely, independently and can complete assigned work at or above expectations without daily, in-person supervision.
  • Capable of communicating well via remote work and collaboration tools like Zoom and Slack.

Salary range guidance for this position is:   $65,000- $95,000.00
