Job Description: Software Engineer

XOR Security is currently seeking several talented Java Software Engineers to support an Agency-level Advanced Cyber Analytics team. This program provides targeted threat monitoring and response capabilities related to security event monitoring, incident response, malware analysis and reverse engineering, cyber intelligence and insider threat.  The positions will focus on custom development in support of the mission and the team from inception to operations.  XOR staff are on the forefront of providing Advanced Analytics, Cyber Threat Emulation, Cyber Software Development, and Systems Engineering support to include the development of advanced analytics and countermeasures to protect critical assets from hostile adversaries. To support this advanced cyber analytics team, we are seeking candidates with full stack development experience, a strong desire to work in the cybersecurity field and a willingness to join a small dynamic team tackling a diverse set of challenges. Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the cybersecurity domain and experience integrating with related technologies and systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar role.
• Strong experience developing with Java (minimum of 7 years).
• Full stack development experience with enterprise applications or microservices, preferably in a closed environment
• Experience working with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• A desire to work as a part of a small team with a willingness to work in multiple capacities as needed.
• Strong desire to learn new and emerging techniques and technologies to solve complex cybersecurity related tasks

Desired Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with the Elastic Stack (Elastic Certified Engineer is a plus)

• Experience developing with common Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate
• Experience integrating backend systems with third party APIs, SQL databases, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with front end development using technologies like Vue.js, React and/or Angular
• Familiar with Dev/Ops tools including Git, Jenkins and Docker
• Familiar working in Unix-like environments
• Practical experience working in the cybersecurity industry - processing cybersecurity data, familiarity using or integrating with enterprise cyber technologies, etc.
