Job Description

The Head of Cyber Security and Technology Risk plays a fundamental role across all design and delivery aspects of technology risk and cyber security, including successful coordination and outcomes of security strategy, control delivery, management of technology and cyber risks, and cyber security threat management for all Group operations. Additionally, this opportunity provides risk and control advisory services to help protect the Group’s customers, assets, systems, and data.  

Reporting into the CTO, the successful candidate will be the subject matter expert for Cyber-security and Technology Risk. This role also engages directly with Platform Engineering & DevOps teams, business risk teams and other key business stakeholders (e.g., L&D, Distribution, Legal, Risk, Lending) to enable the delivery of Cybersecurity services and consult on project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Manage the Cyber Security and Technology Risk functions including management of security and technology related risks within the Group
  • Present at Board sub Committees and Executive level
  • Act as key interface between internal & external Cyber Security teams
  • Plan and deliver effective security controls to all business units and assess their impact on processes and systems
  • Provide leadership and direction for Group Cyber Security capability, including planning and development, and collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Responsible for delivery and effective operation of key security technologies across Operations and Engineering, including Anti-malware, Email & Web protection, DLP, SIEM and Vulnerability Management
  • Develop, maintain, and promote adherence to the IT Risk & Security Frameworks
  • Manage the identification & response to cyber-security incidents, including treatment of control gaps and remedial actions ensuring the adoption or development of relevant security services
  • Establish and maintain Group security governance bodies and processes
  • Inspire, mentor, and motivate Technology teams to attain goals and pursue excellence in risk & cyber-security capability

Qualifications

  • Significant industry experience in senior security roles
  • Significant technical knowledge of platforms and network infrastructure, cyber security, and technology risk
  • Seasoned understanding of Technology risk management principles and knowledge of Operational Risk and Compliance frameworks
  • Experience in banking, consumer lending or digital banking transformation, specifically in Cloud/SaaS environments
  • Practical experience in managing stakeholders to effect change, including strong influencing skills
  • Hands on experience with deploying security controls

Nice to have:

  • CISSP, CISA and/or CISM qualification desired
  • Experience in large transformational change.
