Join us.   Barbaricum seeks an experienced Cyber Engineer to provide support to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) customer. Specifically, this individual will integrate as part of a team augmenting the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) cyber and physical security missions with a goal of establishing a more resilient front against an evolutionary threat landscape.  This team will research analytics, analytic platforms and analytic solutions sets to support the discovery and mitigation of cyber threats through the provisioning of advanced countermeasures. This will also include visualization and fusion of automated analytic information to support an advanced Security Operational situational awareness capability. Cyber risk reduction support will build upon analytics services and data science methodologies, along with various engagement and research initiatives to meet required objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, testing and implementation of cyber capabilities, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks, which includes the research of attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security and designs countermeasures. This may include the maintenance of hardware, software and network firewalls and encryption protocols as well as the administration of security policies to control physical and virtual access to systems.
  • Work collaboratively with data scientists and analysts in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to create and enhance automated analytic tools (e.g., signature, behavioral, heuristic, anomalous, unsupervised-learning, predictive, and emerging) used to discover malicious cyber activities within networks and operation systems.
  • Support the development and enhancement of visualization and data analytics tools to enhance the interpretability of data and findings, which includes support for a visualization frameworks and tools such as Chart.js, D3.js, Kibana, PowerBI, React, and Tableau.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required
  • Bachelor's degree in technical or related field
  • 5+ years of experience
