Application Security Engineer, Amazon Healthcare Security

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our team.As a Security Engineer, you will work with a distributed team of security professionals whose responsibility is to ensure the data we collect and generate is secure from unauthorized access, and that our devices and systems are secure, resilient, and compliant.The ideal candidate will have a sophisticated understanding of: - Security Testing tools, such as Burp Suite, HP Fortify, and SAST/DAST tools - CI/CD process automation - Experience with CloudFormation, API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, and others. - OWASP, WAF, VPC, container security frameworks, and other common cloud-based security tools- Solid understanding of core Secure coding principals - Strong understanding of Java, Ruby, HQL, PythonIn this role, you will:· Collaborate with experienced Amazonians to create and execute security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal and/or external attacks· Develop, test, review, debug, or deploy code that supports security protocols· Identify areas of improvement around the current DevSecOps program to increase developer velocity and program efficiency while maintaining a high security bar · Explore areas to automate deployments and tasks around the CI/CD pipeline · Work with Core Infrastructure teams to identify gap and bottlenecks in current processes to build more efficient solutions · Work with software development teams to identify security problems and improve the security aspects of their service(s)· Troubleshoot, research the root cause of, and resolve security or risk issues with guidanceOur team is dedicated to supporting new members. We will work with them to create system artifacts, preform manual and automated code review, and assist with scoping and conducting Pentesting activities. Basic Qualifications

BS in computer science, networking, information systems, computer engineering, or 5+ years’ equivalent experienceMinimum of 3 years’ experience in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plansMinimum of 3 years’ experience in software architecture, design, implementation, support, and evaluation of security-focused tools and servicesMinimum of 3 years’ experience in three or more of the following areas: cryptography, application security, authentication, web and network protocols, data structures and algorithms, software development, threat modelling, pen tests, or vulnerability assessmentsMinimum of 2 years scripting or programming experience in Java, Python, Perl, Scala, or other languagesMinimum of 2 years’ experience in executive communications or technical writing; clear, concise, and thorough written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with more advanced DevSecOps practices, such as Observability, Fault Injection, DevSecOps, Blue/Green Deployments, etc.- Experience enabling developers to deliver faster results trough DevOps practices- Experience with Coding and Best Practices for the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)- Strong verbal and written communications skills. - DevSecOps is about Development and Operations teams collaborating closely, so you will need these to tear some walls downAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $135,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
