We value collaboration, innovation and excellence, and are looking for talented people to join our team.Job Summary:-The VP of Marketing – Private Cloud is responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategy for Rackspace Technology’s $1.6 billion Private Cloud technology and solutions Business Unit (BU) to support our growth goals. Reporting directly to the Global Chief Marketing Officer, this person will lead a global team of marketers, and bring a data-driven approach to executing across the full marketing funnel to achieve the pipeline goals with innovative and measurable demand campaigns. The marketing strategy will address both current customers, where there is an opportunity to expand our solutions footprint, and acquiring new customers with our industry-leading private/hybrid cloud solutions. This leader will work in close partnership with the global marketing centers of excellence as well as the BU’s sales leadership and be an extended member of the BU’s executive leadership team. This role will also work collaboratively with the Product team to ensure we effectively align our marketing and product strategies in a customer-centric way. The ideal candidate will have extensive B2B tech marketing experience particularly in the cloud space and have led global teams. They will enjoy and excel in creative thinking, innovating, and delivering measurable results that help grow the pipeline and win business. They will be an engaging leader with strong communication skills who can balance driving the ‘big picture’ with getting their hands dirty when needed. While they have experience driving awareness through top of funnel programs, such as thought leadership content and events, they lean towards demand generation with a track record of successful integrated campaign execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
Marketing Planning & Execution:-
- Develop the BU marketing strategy and execution plan on a quarterly and annual cadence based on input from relevant stakeholders. Ensure plans are aligned with corporate strategic priorities.
- Work cross-functionally to generate demand for the Private Cloud technology and solutions portfolio through multi-channel campaigns and programs.
- Hold self and team accountable to KPIs in support of BU targets.
- Build appropriate demand engines for the segments, namely commercial/SMB and Mid-market Enterprise as well as focus vertical segments.
- Monitor and react to results quickly (with a test and learn approach) to make adjustments and ensure successful outcomes that achieve or exceed goals.
- Build, manage and coach a high-performing and cohesive global marketing team.
- Collaborate with Sales and Product leadership to align marketing strategy with commercial and product strategies.
- Work collaboratively with the Partner and Alliances team to ensure marketing strategy is aligned with our partner and alliances strategy.
- Leverage market research to understand competitive landscape and market dynamics (size, growth rate) and incorporate this into marketing strategy.
- Manage BU marketing budget and expenditure with regular reporting working with Finance business partner.
- Drive spend/cost optimization to ensure plan is within budget quarterly and annually.
- Identify competitors and evaluate their strategies and positioning and devise counterstrategies.
- Brief and lead marketing campaigns, in tandem with the Global CMO.
- Work closely with Marketing and Sales operations to ensure the team is data-driven and can measure and present results across key programs to demonstrate pipeline growth and ROI.
- Maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels.
Qualification:-
- 15+ years of marketing experience building and leading marketing teams in growth-oriented companies.
- 10+ years of experience in the B2B technology sector with at least 5 years in the cloud space
- Bachelors and/or MA/MS degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication.
- In-depth understanding of the data center and cloud market and industry research.
- Expertise in demand generation
